OriginOligo-Miocene, Eger-Eggenburgian. Geomorphological featuresThe type site of the Szécsény Slir Formation is the former opencast mine section of the Szécsény “small” and “large” brick factories. The total thickness of the deeply offshore formation is 400-600 meters, it is deeper than 50 meters and is uniformly ashore. Most of the formation is gray, less often greenish-gray siltstone, clayey rock flour, fine-grained sand. Traces of life are common, especially the fauna of rich foraminifera, but its mollusk macrofauna is poor. |
