New Year's Eve time travel to the Miocene tropical prehistoric world

To bid farewell to the New Year, an unusual thematic tour has been organized in the Miocene Park. Brave time travelers can explore the relics of the Prehistoric Pompeii, preserved by an ancient supervolcanic eruption.

Organized by the Bükki National Park Directorate, the imaginary time travel leads from the trees of Bükkábrány through the interactive exhibits of the Ancient Pine visitor center - a touch wall that brings the prehistoric animals to life and some of the famous geosites of the Novohrad-Nógrád UNESCO Global Geopark, which are worth visiting even in winter - to the wintering Miocene Forest, and then away, to the thrilling exploration of the geological trail.

Back in the reception building, a 4Dx cinema in a moving chair takes participants, who pay extra, back to the prehistoric world before the volcanic eruption. Only those with strong nerves and appropriate clothing should embark on the tour, which spans 17 million years.
